Project ALBEDO - Open Radio Telescope
Project Albedo is Sri Lanka's first radio-telescope, initiated by undergraduates at SLTC Research University in 2019. Originally comprising four members, it expanded to over 20 by its completion in 2022. The project features a 5m parabolic dish antenna, tuned to receive the hydrogen line, located in Padukka, Sri Lanka. Open to global observers, it serves as a gateway to explore the universe. Continuing under SEDS (Students for Exploration and Development of Space), it offers undergraduates opportunities to delve into RF technologies and conduct radio astronomy research. Fully open-source, all software, documentation, and project details are accessible on the SEDS SLTC website.
